Cowart's Common Room
Owl time, turkey leftovers

[/img]

Good evening from New York to all owls.

I am treating you to a turkey leftover picture tonight, gentleman watching yesterday's Thanksgiving parade, with famous Dakota apartment building in background.

My other parade photos really weren't great ... it was a warm day, but very grey and overcast.

How lucky I am to have also had today off. Lots of Santa's workshop projects got bonus time leading them to completion.

Let's all cheer ChrisH on her wonderful news!

I know that Camilla will soon be here. xo

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

Thank you kindly, love the Heading to the owl post.!

Great pic Frances, and that is some turkey hat.! sometimes the weather seems to let us down with the light for getting a pic, not to worry, there will be lots more occasions.

Lovely for you to have a free day from the shop Frances and to be able to catch up with those fab projects which are almost completed.

I popped into the village yesterday evening and it looked so magical, tiny twinkling white lights leading over the entrance to the Church, and beside the entrance to the Church a sweet little vintage shop with it's windows looking like something out of Dickens.

Camilla's Avatar The Vintage shop in question Frances is named Very Nice Things. The Proprietor a lovely friendly lady named Sue always makes you feel welcome, she also attended the wedding recently of my Son's best pal. I often tell Sue that she should maybe advertise her crafts on a website. I will ask her permission if I can take a pic of the exterior of her shop so you can see how lovely.

Re:
Puffin's Avatar Hi Camilla so glad your son could join you for Thanksgiving.
What do you all think about Tiger Woods accident ???
Do you think it was a family spat at two thirty a.m. ???

Camilla's Avatar Hello Puffin,

Oh how lovely.! a new addition to the family, and a Lhaso Apso, love this breed of dog Puffin. Just like my little Robbie Boy, he was a Lhaso, they have wonderful temperaments, I am sure Mie Tu will soon bond with Teddy.

I cooked meat pie too yesterday Puffin, although I do not eat meat hardly at all now, everyone else in the family seems to like it.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Puffin, what fun news to have Teddy joining your household. Hoping that all will soon accept him, and that he is a quick and willing pupil for the upcoming training sessions.

Camilla, I know how much you are enjoying having your son visiting. That shop must be wonderful ... please do try to send along a picture. (Maybe via e-mail if that is easier for the owner to accept.)

One of today's projects was changing around the design of one of the scarves that I've been crocheting. It is no longer in little circles in squares, a la mirror embroidery, but rather little circles surrounded by eight loops that sort of look like stylized petals. Still the same multi-colors of four ply yarn, and the new effect is lighter, more of a lacy floral design.

Back to work tomorrow to see how many customers will be flocking to us. xo

Camilla's Avatar Yes, saw the news earlier on my Telegraph Newspaper online news page about Tiger Woods. It seems he was only driving less than 33 miles per hour as the airbag did not deflate driving from his house.

Re:
Frances's Avatar I haven't read any details re Tiger W and the crash. Sometimes the press will protect a favored celebrity from too much initial coverage, yet sooner or later the story will unfold. Hoping that all will recover.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Frances, I will speak to the lady of the shop and see what she says, will let you know of how I will posting, thank you.

Must be soo wonderful to be able to knit and crochet on a chosen piece of garment, I loved the colours of the mohair yarn Frances and the lacy floral design sounds really lovely.

Hoping and wishing that the shop does well with latest collection leading up to Christmas. My son arrived with an enormous bag of parcels for the family from J.Lewis, they will be hidden away until later next month.

Re:
Frances's Avatar I remember John Lewis, think that there is one at Sloane Sq? I would always go there to find tea towels for the kitchen and other linens, some chinaware, remember a huge ground floor full of wonderful things for the house (or flat.)

Camilla, I will be signing off in a short while, since I have an early start tomorrow. I will hope to see you and other owls tomorrow evening. If you want me to put up tomorrow's post, just leave me a pm. xo

RE
Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances,

I came across an old picture online yesterday of Bedford Square in London, it was where my mother first lived when she was very young. Lovely architecture of the houses there, I still get nostalgic of days long ago in London when I lived there.

Night night Frances, sleep well, sweetest of dreams.

See you tomorrow.

Re:
My, such interesting news on the Owl perch!

I'll check Chris' news in a bit. And I never realized that Puffins and dogs got along so well. Greetings to Teddy, not just from me, but from Sadie and Nuala, too.

Foggy day this morning. Walked by the river and there was so much fog I could barely see the sun. Colder air hitting warmer water.

Also, I got shot today. No, not a bullet. An H1N1 injection. Had to stand in line for two bl**dy fla**ng hours! If you don't hear from me for a few days, you'll know I had a bad reaction (either to the injection or the long wait!). Came home so exhausted I made supper then collapsed into bed. Only reason I got up was that Sadie insisted she wanted to go "walkies" (as I believe you Brit's put it).

Off to check on Chris' and other news; hopefully I'll make it back.

Tiddles in wound and fed. Clock in out for the night.

Bear moves on to gander and gloriouser things.
