Don't forget 25th November is the day to start your comments on the Purple Coo Book Group's Autumn Read, Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. It's easy to find, just go to 'Book Club' in 'Forums' and you'll see it listed.

Any suggestions for the winter read let me know via the comments below or PM me if you prefer
I'm dying to hear what you think

Re:
Frances's Avatar You know, I may need to set up my first new year's resolution ... sample a bit of Sir Terry.

Right now, I am reading Penelope Lively's Family Album. She has been one of my favorite writers ever since I finished Moon Tiger.

Perhaps others around here also admire her writing?

Re:
Lampworkbeader's Avatar I do Francis, do you want to make a suggestion for Book Club?

Re:
Arosebyanyothername's Avatar Donna Leon writes detective fiction. Her detective is Guido Brunetti who lives in Venice where all the stories are set. If you love Venice, as I do you will find the books atmospheric. They are well written, thoughtful novels which I enjoy, but I am not sure that they are a suitable standard for a bookclub read. Have any other Purple Cooers read them? What do you think of them?
