Cowart's Common Room
If you are having trouble closing your eyes on Sunday night/Monday morning...

Hello to all fellow owls,

Hoping that Camilla will be here soon.

I am fresh in from work, and just about to sit down to tonight's supper, still feeling pretty relaxed courtesy of the two weeks off.

Where are the rest of you owls? xo

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

Oh thank you kindly, have had rather a busy two days here, was lovely to have Grandson come to stay and of course I spoilt him rotten.! We did have a game of chess and draughts, which was not too exhausting for him considering his mobilty at the moment.

Hope your first day back at work went well and there was no hiccups for you to attend to while you were away.

Enjoy that yummy supper, see you later Frances.

Tiggywinkle's Avatar Hello Frances and Camilla. Just off to bed.Did more cooking for the freezer to-day. Just had my hot whiskey. Glad your day went well at the shop Frances. Bet you were thrilled to have your grandson, Camilla. Its a windy night here, but we have escaped the awful floods around the country. Talk to you tomorrow. Missed Blackbird, and Hi to any other Owls who land

Frances's Avatar Tiggy, I am very glad that those floods were not near you. Think that you have got quite enough on your plate without massive water!

Camilla, just know that grandson of yours must adore you. Chess! You've taken me back to some very old memories with that reference. I did learn how to play chess while young, and then, as with many other early introductions, that one sort of disappeared.

Yes, the shop did continue very well during my absence and I am so delighted!

It is great to see that the customers do love our newest collection. Maybe I will have a chance tomorrow to actually try on some of these pretty clothes myself.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Tiggy, no hot whiskey here sadly, but I have had some hot chocolate, oh and marshmallows. So pleased to hear you have escaped the floods Tiggy, very very wet and windy here lately.

Sweet dreams Tiggy, sleep well.

Camilla's Avatar Good to hear shop is doing well Frances and the collection is a success. Oh yes, definately try on those pretty clothes.!!

On Friday morning I saw the most amazing sight, thousands of pink footed geese flying over here with amazing sounds too, all flying in formation, perhaps migrating to the south.

Camilla's Avatar I happened to come across a wonderful website of a lady in Snowdonia, beautiful pics of her wildlife too.

Here is the link:

Frances's Avatar Wow, Camilla, nothing like that visible in the sky over Manhattan. Were those geese in a v shaped formation, did it change as the wind direction changed?

I love seeing large groups of birds on the wing, whether they seem to be looking for dinner, or just moving on to their next destination. It's the complexity of their choreography that catches my eye.

Might have to leave this perch shortly tonight.

It's grand to have your here again. See you tomorrow night. I will be on the late shift at the shop, so might be a bit late arriving in my own version of choreography! xo

Camilla's Avatar Link was broken, will try again.

Camilla's Avatar Yes Frances, think those geese were in a v shaped formation, really a wonderful spectacular sight, I was so overcome with joy, it brought tears to my eyes. Think they go where there is sugar-beet crops in the field before they fly off, lots of sugar beet here in the fields.

Thank you Frances, lovely to be back on the perch again, and thank you kindly for posting the owl post last night, so kind.

Night Night, sweetest of dreams Frances, see you tomorrow.

Camilla's Avatar My bed is calling me, so will say night night Puffin and to all owls that hop on the perch later. Sorry to have missed the Bear.

Please let me know Bear if you would like me to tend to Tiddles and the Clock if your back is poorly, but I am wishing for you a more pain-free back, chiropractors can work wonders.

Sweet Dreams to all the owls, see you tomorrow.

The Bear is late, as usual. First, playing with grandchildren, who were over for supper. Then walking and playing with puppy.

Glad to know Tiggy was not flooded out, and that Frances' store did so well in her absence.

Daughter is just back from holiday in Cuba, and brought back some Cuban rum for her father to sample. Being played out and having had a small sample of rum, this Bear is ready for bed.

BTW, my back is doing much better than you. My eye surgery is tentatively scheduled for two weeks. I my be in decent shape by Christmas. Fancy that!

I've attended to Tiddles and the clock. Now I need to go fetch the puppy, who I let outside a few minutes ago.

Not sure if I'll make it to the Owls' perch again tonight.

In which case, Sleep well, good Owls. Especially you, Camilla.
