Cowart's Common Room
I CAN'T SLEEP CHAT POST

Hello Owls.!

Did anyone see the programme AutumnWatch with Chris Packham and Kate Humble earlier on BBC2, love this wildlife programme. It has been shown every Friday evening at 8.30pm for 1 hour, followed by Autumn Watch unsprung for 30 minutes. Very much looking forward to Springwatch next year, although there will be a special programme going out on BBC2 just after Christmas this year.

Whatever you have planned for the weekend, have a great one.

I have my cuppa and just going to take a tour of the site, see you later owly's.!

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances, Rob-bear, and Puffin, sorry to have missed Toady.

The day has just whizzed by, so much to do and not enough time to do in. Grandson will be arriving later this morning but will have his crutches with him, just have to make sure Daisy does not jump up, she gets soo excited when family arrive.

Re:
I'm afraid Autumn has come and gone, here. We're bracing for winter, now. Sun is setting much earlier. There a real nip in the breeze. Parkas are out and ready (I've been wearing mine already when walking Sadie in the evening). Snow shovels on stand-by.

Not nearly as idylic as in your beautiful pictures, Camilla.

Re:
Glad to know your grandson is coming, albeit with crutches. I hope he and Daisy don't have any misfortunes in the process of enjoying a delightful weekend.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hello Camilla, another hello to you, as well, Bear.

It is grand to see that beautiful picture.

Camilla, I can imagine that you've a bit to get arranged for the weekend with your grandson. Daisy definitely needs to have a bit of remedial training. Of course, she must love to see that grandson, yet will have to know to temper her enthusiasm a bit!

I've had a great day. Weather was lovely, and I got my card painting done before lunch. Then a quick trip over to the Friday farmers market, to have a look at the seasonal plants. I did pick up a fuschia pink (I think) Christmas cactus for my window sill. I had wanted to find some hiacinths, but there weren't any.

So, perhaps tomorrow I will just go to one of the neighborhood flower shops and get in some paperwhite bulbs to start the lead up to Christmas flowering. Maybe they will also have hyacinths.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Thank you Bear, it is still Autumn here, and many leaves are still on the tree's, but there are soo many on the lawns too that need clearing, that will have to wait until another day.

The temperature here in Norfolk has been very mild, almost like late summers day here today, the weather seems to be warmer for this time of the year here, but so sad to hear about the people in Cumbria who have had severe flooding.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Camilla, I have seen some very dramatic videos on the news today about flooding in Cumbria, and think that parts of Ireland might also have the same situation.

Gosh!

RE
Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances, thank you, yes will have to watch Daisy, but she is a sweetheart, she has soo much love for everyone and wags her tail continously, although she will have to learn not to jump up when Grandson comes.

Pleased to hear you had kind weather and that fab painting has been finished. Fingers crossed for those pretty paperwhite bulbs Frances, love Hyacinths, I do love the very deep blue colour, and the scent is just gorgeous.

Re:
Puffin's Avatar DearQwls,
I lucked out in the summer-took a chance on a Cactus and now have a bright pink Thanksgiving Cactus in full bloom.
I kow how you feel Frances, vacations end too soon.
At least you have a very interesting job.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Yes, Camilla, there is nothing quite like the scent of a hyacinth.

Wish that I could say that I have finished all the card painting, but not quite there. All the same, I am so near to having accumulated enough that it will be easy to just do a few more. I did manage to get a supply of envelopes tomorrow, so now it will be just getting in all those stamps and writing a note or ... well, writing a lot of notes. I love doing that part, too.

Please do let your fellow owls know if you'd like us to put up the post for you tomorrow. You will surely have a day that will require a lot of energy. xo

Puffin's Avatar Yes sad to hear about the poor people in all the floods.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hello Puffin, so it seems like you and I have got a Christmas/Thanksgiving cactus in that same beautiful color. I just love those plants, something magical about the blooms.

Camilla, I will be going back to work early on Sunday morning. Sure to be lots and lots to catch up on, so I do hope to have a few hours on my own before the normal Sunday staff schedule begins.

Re:
Puffin's Avatar Thank you Camilla,
For the lovely poster and flowers for my Birthday.
I have a busy day ahead too.
So will say Good night early to all the Owls.
I lost many of my house plants that flower in the winter too, when I brought them in-not enough sun and too wet and cold a summer. That made the Thanksgiving[there is another type that blooms only at Christmas, but looks about the same.]so very welcome.
