Cowart's Common Room
Hold on tight!

And batten down the hatches. It's wild and woolly out there tonight. I've got a Brownie and a husband out in it and I won't settle until we're all safely tucked up in our beds tonight.

Snailbeachshepherdess's Avatar pretty wild 70 miles inland as well. Hope the Brownie and Hubby return unscathed.

Toady's Avatar Was a bit wild and woolly here earlier but it's eased off a bit. Lull before the storm?
Forecast 80 mph winds through the night.

Mountainear's Avatar Bit of a lull at the moment (I'm only about 5 miles from SBS) but it has been evil.

Jaynebeth's Avatar We're all in and accounted for - hopefully everything outside will be where we left it come tomorrow.

Quite looking forward to lying in the dark listening to the storm - a priviledge of those blessed with warm and dry homes.

Silverhead's Avatar It hasn't hit us yet and everything is ominously quiet. But we don't expect the storm until tomorrow.
Unfortunately my husband is out, taking our grandchildren home and I won't settle until he is home again.
Our son and daughter in law were away for a few days break to Barcelona and though I'm delighted to know that they reached Newcastle safely at 4pm and were desperate to see their children (reason husband has taken the children, already bathed and "pyjamed") It is a long drive from there to Dundee and I'll not be able to settle till I know that everyone is home and bedded ( including husband).
Lordy we women give ourselves such a lot of angstSad

And on the other side of the pond -- quiet and calm. And a bit chilly (temperature heading for below freezing again tonight).

Bear will take what he's got over what you've got. Exclamation

Preseli Mags's Avatar The last of mine (husband) back safe now too. The Brownie had a bit of a scare in a flood when the car engine died, but they made it back and she's safely tucked up asleep in bed. Something just went crash outside which was a bit unnerving!

Frances's Avatar I do love happy endings!

Glad that your family will sleep well in their own beds tonight.

It has been unusually windy here in NYC today, so you lot across the Pond had best prepare for another breezy time in a few days.

Camilla's Avatar I so love that little picture from Winnie the Pooh, PM.

Very severe weather here too PM, fierce winds and much rain.

Pleased to hear family back safely, sleep well, hope there is not too much damage by morning when you awake from the winds.

Silverhead's Avatar And the rain and the wind have now arrived here. I think Saturday might well be spent by the fire.
