Cowart's Common Room

Good Evening to all the Owls.!

Thank you for posting the owl post yesterday evening for us dear Frances, so very kind of you.

I went wiith my husband to visit our Grandchildren and family yesterday, had a lovely time and was so pleased to see them all. We drove back early in the evening and was not long before I said...... stop the car, I think I am going to faint and feel sickRolling Eyes Not sure why this was but felt that a good night's sleep would put things to right, so sorry I could not make it on the perch.

It has been raining for most of the day here, but the cheery log fire has been very welcoming.

Do hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Kettle is on the boil so just off to make a cuppa, see you later.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Frances's Avatar Welcome back, Camilla. We truly missed you, and hope that you are feeling much, much better tonight.

The past two days have been beautiful here in NYC, much warmer than normal for this time of year. Sweater weather, perhaps wil a scarf wound round your neck.

I have been working on the Christmas card paintings, and also made a birthday gift for a friend. It's a whimsy sort of crocheted creation ... a string of start shapes in autumnal colors of cotton yarn. Sort of a seasonal bunting. I think that it might also serve as an early Christmas decoration.

Will be having lunch with a friend on Wednesday, getting together with other pals this weekend, and another luncheon planned for next weekend.

There are a few other special meetings in the works too. It is so great to have no true schedule, but rather to have the possibility of just fitting things in as it suits all parties.

Hello Puffin!

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances, much better, but quite a scare, I loathe being sick.

May that beautiful weather in NY continue while your holiday is with you, not so warm weather here, so definately warm jacket and gloves, and brolly today.

The greeting card sounds so lovely Frances, I like the sound of that seasonal bunting, you are really talented dear Frances.

What better than to share days with friends, will be wonderful to catch up and hope you will be able to maybe visit the Museum too Frances.

Frances's Avatar It's funny that during this vacation time, I am actually getting up earlier than usual in the morning, so that I will have the longest day possible to enjoy.

There are so many things that I want to do!

Frances's Avatar Nfite, nite to you, Camilla.

Hello Tiggy! That last forum post of yours was another winner. Hoping that Tigger is doing better.

Tiggywinkle's Avatar Was thinking of you to-day Frances. While getting up early you can loll in your robe if you wish, and not have to rush out. Lovely to paint and do your crafts at your leisure, and have the fun of meeting up with friends. I love the decorations in NY for Christmas, wandering around the Rockerfellow Centre, and mooching through Macy's.

Tiggywinkle's Avatar Thanks Frances. Things are pretty tough here at the moment. Tigger not well at all, and is depressed, which is something unusual for him, and in bad form. It is pulling me down a bit, but I went up to our large supermarket tonight, and bought some very nice small gifts, stocked up on tights, some food for the freezer, some new everyday cutlery, which cheered me up. Getting out for lunch tomorrow to a friend who lives down in Wicklow, so the drive is lovely, and I'm hosting a birthday lunch for 8 here on Friday. I must post a new topic in the forum this week, and try to do another blog. There are some nice sculptures in my last one you might like.

Frances's Avatar Tiggy, no lolling for me. It's more up, have a shower, get dressed, and read the newspaper on line, while having some breakfast. And then, pick up the paint brushes for two or three hours of painting.

Brief lunch break, perhaps a short walk to do a few errands, or a lunch get together, then back for more painting or reading. Maybe a nap!

More Christmas gift making. By then it could be sunset already. Etc.

Just great fun.

Yes, I also love it when the festive decorations begin to go up. The Tree at the Rockefeller Center skating rink is always fun to see. My favorite store windows are those at Bergdorf Goodman. They are always over the top, with unlimited fantasy.

Wondering if I will do some baking while on this break....

Tiggywinkle's Avatar I haven't thought about baking yet. I have a birthday cake to make for rascal who will be 3 on the 13th Dec, 2 days after they arrive, and will do baking with the children. Scooped up 6 sacks of leaves to-day, but thankfully they are almost finished. Trying to tidy presses, sort clothes, my sewing and craft stuff, as I have lots of interior decorating to start in January.

Frances's Avatar Oh Tiggy, I am very sorry to hear that Tigger is not doing well. I so hope that his health will once again improve.

It is good that you are able to keep on doing these things that you enjoy, and that you are somehow able to find the time and energy to do so.

Speaking of energy, I am going to log off now, and begin my wind down. I have a new book from the library, a translation of the Portugese writer Fernando Pessoa's The Book of Disquiet. I learned of it from another marvelous blogger.

Nite nite, xo

Tiggywinkle's Avatar I'm off to bed too Frances. Have fun and talk to you soon. xx

Bear slips in quietly -- pad, pad, padding on big Bear paws.

Good night Tiddles. Good night clock.

Frances is having a fine time -- that's good. Tiggy, Camilla and Puffin doing not too bad -- that's all right.

But poor Tigger! Oh my -- what can we do with Tigger? Perhaps some of Roo's strengthening medicine? Hmmmm. Bear is puzzled. Bear hugs for Tigger, or at least a good Bear pat on the back.

Good night, Owls. Sleep well.
