Hoping to go over to see my Daughter and Grandchildren this weekend, really looking forward to it. This Christmas will be the first one we will be spending with my son's partner, can't believe the festive season will soon be here.!

Whatever you are doing for the weekend have a great one.

Just going to take a tour of the site, see you later owlys.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Frances's Avatar Good evening to you all, Camilla and Blackbird.

Only one more day to go before my two weeks of vacation time!

Today was busy for me, too, Camilla, as I am trying to tie up some of the loose ends, and prepare to pass the baton to my assistant. Of course by this evening we were laughing because as many loose ends as we tied together, we just seemed to be sent more loose ones to deal with.

Wish I could have attended today's celebration parade on lower Broadway today, in honor of our baseball team, the Yankees, winning the world series championship. I have been to some of these before, and they are great fun.

Almost supper time here. Rice as a base tonight rather than that pasta.

Be back soon.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Blackbird, thank you, yes love the pics too, they are by the artist Carlton Alfred Smith.

Frances's Avatar Thank you, Tiggy.

I guess I feel more relieved, than excited. It is going to be so grand to have each day up to my own wishes. No outside demands.

I want to see old friends, to work on crafty stuff, to see art in exhibits and make some of my own. My budget is tight as ever, but I hope to have some lunches that I do not prepare myself. I want to paint lots of this year's Christmas cards, to get ahead of the supply/demand curve. I want to be able to stay up late and sleep late the next day. Walk more in Central Park. And so much more.

Hoping that your Tigger is doing better. xo

Frances's Avatar Camilla, please do give your daughter and those wonderful grandchildren a hug from me. Tell them that it traveled all across the Atlantic Ocean, just because They've got such a terrific mom/grandmom.

I think that my assistant will have a great chance to grow in her position, and know that other shop managers in our district will be on hand to help her.

My rice had chicken, shallots, carrots, cremini mushrooms and sugar snap peas. Well, they were sauted in butter with various herbs and a bit of turmeric. Delicious!

Bet that your prawns were also quite yummy.

It's wonderful to begin to think about Christmas.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Tiggy,

Thank you, my Daughter used to live nearby here, but when she married for the second time a year ago this September she moved to the Norfolk Broads as her husband already has his home there. So the trip to her is about 45 mins by car.

My Grandson is getting along very well thank you Tiggy, he has decided to do a documentary film with photo's taken by the Surgeon for the class so that his class mates will see what the severity of his condition was. His school chums were so delighted to see him back to school, he went back on Wednesday.

I will update my thread on Grandson over in the Forums tomorrow.

Tiggywinkle's Avatar Hi there, Blackbird. Puffin seems to be gone. Just making my hot water bottle. Pulling the devil by the tail a bit here. So excited about the Aussies coming, but equally worried about Tigger. He's not doing well, and has become depressed. Hoping to goodness I can get him up there a bit, before they arrive. It is all pretty exhausting at times, as he seems to have lost heart battling with his ongoing illnesses.

Posted by: Tiggywinkle on 7th Nov 2009 at 02:14AM

Tiggywinkle's Avatar That's not too far Camilla. Great to hear GS is back at school, and the documentary is a great idea. Frances, how great to be able to freewheel and do as you please with no demands. I can just see you all cosy and snug painting your beautiful cards. Enjoy every minute of your time off. It is well deserved.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Frances, soo kind, I will give my Daughter and Grandchildren your hug, they will be so delighted that they have received this all the way across the Atlantic Ocean.

Your supper sounds yummy, I have been having less meat dishes for quite a while now, my HL bought some Lamb, but it is one meat that I will not eat.

Christmas seems to be here quickly, I do think time is just whizzing by, even though that 24 hour clock is the same.

Blackbird's Avatar I'm back from a phone call with my sister.

Tiggy, I hope that Tigger can cheer up- it helps with staying well but it's hard for people- especially this time of year with less light.

Frances- how exciting, two weeks of vacation. If it was me, it would be hard to stay away but be strong and enjoy your days.

Posted by: Blackbird on 7th Nov 2009 at 02:22AM

Blackbird's Avatar I think that the documentary is a great idea- maybe he will grow up to be a doctor.

I have corned beef in the oven and should be fixing the rest of it.

It's been a difficult day here in Seattle. We had a police officer shot in his car on Halloween and his memorial service was today. I stayed close to the television, watching the procession, the service and crying off and on. He was 39 with young children and it's just so sad. There hasn't been any other news on our stations so I'm cut off from the rest of the terrible news across the nation.

Posted by: Blackbird on 7th Nov 2009 at 02:26AM

Camilla's Avatar Wishing for you all that you have wrote for your two weeks vacation Frances.

So sorry to hear Tigger is not doing so well Tiggy, it must be so hard for him, and you dear Tiggy must be worried for him and anxious for you also.

Camilla's Avatar Thank you Blackbird, Grandson wants to be a Chef, he did have some lovely conversations with his Italian Plastic Surgeon about Italian food.!

Oh Blackbird, so sad about that Police Officer, we hear such sad news on our TV lately here too and Newspapers.

set backs--

Camilla's Avatar I am away to my bed, so sorry to have missed Puffin.

Just in case our dear Bear is resting, I hope he will not mind if I wind up Tiddles gently, give her half-half, I have put the Clock outside for his dose of Moonglow, just hope he does not get soaked in all this rain.! Sorry to have missed you Rob-bear.

Night Night Frances, and Blackbird and Tiggy, sweet dreams, see you tomorrow.

Puffin's Avatar Dear Frances,
You have earned a wonderful vacation-you work so hard and are so dedicated.
I hope you take the time to do some of your own art work.
New York is starting to be so festive-all we need are a few snow flakes.

Posted by: Puffin on 7th Nov 2009 at 02:36AM

Camilla's Avatar Oh just see you are back Puffin, have PM you, night night.

See you tomorrow.

Blackbird's Avatar A chef is a great career too. Hard work but so is being a doctor.

We're just hearing news that the police have found the car involved in the shooting so they're hopeful. A $105,000 reward for the tip.

The police officer was training a rookie when a car came up next to them and opened fire. The rookie saw the motion and ducked down- still shot across her back. But then, she called for assistance and then got out and returned fire. Pretty amazing in someone just out of the academy.

It's such a hard job to do in the best of times but we're grateful that they do it.

Tiggywinkle's Avatar Blackbird, so sad for a family with Christmas coming up. This mindless violence is impossible to understand. Thanks for your well wishes girls. Keep your fingers crossed, I find an important document that Tigger has mislaid, and I have been searching for the past few days. I'm off to bed, talk to you soon xxx

Posted by: Tiggywinkle on 7th Nov 2009 at 02:40AM

Blackbird's Avatar Well, I need to take my cried out self to the kitchen to peel some carrots and potatoes. Take care, dear ones and have a deep and restful sleep.

Puffin's Avatar Sorry to have missed everyone--
You all have a great weekend.
Hello to Bear too if you come by later,
We are having a few sunny days--But cold and very windy.
I have to get going on redoing the house for Thanksgiving.
Hope your back is better.

Puffin's Avatar Late ,but enjoying your useral lovely paintings.
Have a great week end.
Sweet dreams to all who come to our perch later.

Posted by: Puffin on 7th Nov 2009 at 02:46AM

Busy night on the Owl's perch -- so much chat!

Frances, did I read correctly that you and your assistant are women at loose ends or are loose women? (Bear couldn't quite make that out.) Seems, though, that you were having fun in the process. And now you're taking off for two weeks? Good for you! (And good for the Yankees, too! Beat those Brooklyn Dodgers again! Oh wait; that was about 1956-57-58. Time flies; sorry to re-hash ancient history.)

Tiggy and Camilla -- getting ready for family time! Wonderful. Always good to get together with family. (Bear is sad to hear Tigger is not doing so well. Bear has ongoing illnesses and gets depressed, too. Making contact with others is helpful; has Tigger any interest at all in blogging, or e-mail or whatever? Even reading other olk's blogs?)

Doesn't appear that Tiddles and the clock have received their proper attention for the night. That said, Bear will take appropriate action.

Now the big question; all points heard from except Puffin. Are you all right tonight, my good bird?

Bear needs to attend to Sadie pup. And this small print is beastly on the eyes, Can Bear-ly read it. TTFN.

Sleep well, good Owls!

Frances's Avatar Good evening to you, Bear.

It is great to have you on the perch while some of the rest of the owls are still hovering.

Think that the truly marvelous Camilla has taken the required measures with regard to cat and clock. She is marvelous!

At my shop, I am the one having the two week vacation. My assistant now has the chance to step up to the plate. That is a way again say ... the Yankees are the baseball champions! Plate... home plate ... the place that baseball scores its runs.

Wishing you the best with regard to your eyes, Bear.

Just wish that I could send this along to you in a bigger font.

Signing off now, dear owls. xo
