Cowart's Common Room
Before the cat drops from view

May I just say in response to the comment re hygiene, I spray wipe the range before use.
There is no contact between food and the surface of the range, I use casseroles and pans to cook in.
Stirring spoons etc are placed on a separate saucer- not may I add one that the cat has eaten from!

Re:
Withy Brook's Avatar What really was gross was the un-neutered ginger Tom that lived here when I first arrived. To the left of the Aga was a metal covered shelf on which I liked to put anything I was using while cooking. Tom like to lie on it. Tom disappeared VERY quickly - a secret visit to the vet Twisted Evil Before you stick pins in a model of me, he did also avoid being turned out of the house when we went out and then crapped on the sofa or any other comfy place he could find. The children had fallen in love with him as a kitten, G and their mother let them keep him and then didn't neuter him or train him. MAD.

Lily's Avatar No I wouldn't stick pins in for that Withy, would have evicted him too. Don't know who G is, but a shame he/she didn't have him neutered.

Re:
Preseli Mags's Avatar Presumably the range gets super-hot too, so any bugs would get killed. It all looks very clean and hygienic in the picture - including the cat!

Re:
Patsy's Avatar Fair enough Lily if you wipe where the cat has been lying every time. And Mags yes the stove if very hot will desiccate the germs unless it is cooler when a bit of heat will help them to thrive...
But there seemed to be a lot of cats jumping up onto tables and strolling across kitchen surfaces. I maintain that I wouldn't put my shoes on those areas so I wouldn't allow a cat up there either..
