Camilla's Avatar Michael Palin said in his 2008 documentary about Vilhelm Hammershoi, the key to Hammershoi is that he deliberately did not want us to know him. He was an artist. He painted pictures. The rest is silence.

Hello Westerwitch and Blossom, and Silverhead, ooh think these little owls have hopped off to bed.

Just going to take a peep in the CR.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Hello Silverhead,

I must admit it really did shake me up a bit, so too the rest of our family. Horrid when others are so very ill, but when it is a member of your family and it is a child, so upsetting.

It has left me a tad shaken, as me ever the worrying one, not easy. I would rather have cut off my right arm then have had him suffer so. Pleased though that he is recovering well, although still quite a long way to go yet.

xx

RE
Camilla's Avatar Thank you kindly for your concern Silverhead, night night, and the sweetest of dreams to you.

Hope to see you here on the perch tomorrow night.

Bear sniffs around until finding Owls perch. Cannot see any Owls.

Can see Tiddles an clock. Tiddles is wound. Bear almost trips over stairs while putting clock out, but manages to stay upright. (Bear is very "upright" creature Wink )

Good night to all. Rest well, gentle Owls.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Hellllllooooo Bear.!

So grand to see you here on the perch, I'm here, not sure if my name is on right hand side.?

Ah, Bear still has the most wonderful humour that is sheer tonic despite his hurdles.

Thank you Rob-bear for tending to the cat and the clock.

Wishing you well Bear, sleep well, night night.

Frances's Avatar Hello Camilla, I've just written you a longish message, and have had my server decide to revolt. So... just a quick hallow!

Re:
Frances's Avatar Ah, good, so that one got through.

Sorry to have missed other owls who've quickly landed and taken off again.

Crazy busy day at the shop, with lots of surprises as usual. Our beautiful holiday window has been installed and it is quite sparkly with tiny lights, and glittery snow ball shapes on transparent scrims. In front of the scrims are displayed some lovely clothes either shimmering silks or glittering knits. Really eye catching to those folks walking past.

I am so tired. Long day, with another long day ahead. Might not be here too long myself, off for a quick tour of the site.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances,

Thank you kindly, so sorry Frances, have been searching for some cards to upload, no good, will have to try later this morning.

Bet that shop window looks fab, would love to have dressed it, I am sure I have not lost the touch Frances.! It also is good for any maybe shoppers to come through those doors and enquire that they would love to try on any of those garments that caught their eye on the manniquin.

Please do close those eyes dear Frances, a long day for you, although I will be just making one more cuppa before lamps out.

Have PM you Frances.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Thanks for those kind words, Camilla.

You might be interested to know that we actually don't have any mannequins in our window now. Occasionally we do use them, but not very often.

More often the one or two garments/outfits are displayed in a minamalist fashion, either hung on a long dowel or pole ... a la a scarecrow almost. Or hung on what we skeleton hangers which are sort of sculptural clothes hangers that sort of disappear when the clothes are hung upon them. You'd have to see them to know what I am describing!

Re:
Good evening Frances. Bear was dealing with Sadie pup and forgot to log out. Then -- lo and behold -- Owls!

Another Manic Monday (even on Tuesday) for you, Frances. You should send along a picture of your window -- either here or on your blog.

I'm reading over some material for an Ethics Committee meeting at St. Paul's Hospital, which begins at 7:30 a.m. tomorrow. That's an uncivilized hour for clear thinking; such are the demands in the Bear's life. Fortunately, most of the material is in readable print.

Glad to see you Bear.

Re:
Hello, Puffin and Tiggy.

I think this change of time is causing a ripple effect throughout Cowart's School. As we in Saskatchewan (Canada) don't go onto Daylight Savings Time, the rest of the world gets caught back up with us about this time of year. And people who retire for the night at a certain time are staying up longer (or so it seems).

Sadie pup is flaked out on the floor, but I'm getting ready for an early meeting tomorrow (as I mentioned to Frances (above).

What news from your corners of the world Question

Bear has noticed that Tiggy has finally posted on Holistic Health Forum. I'm off to check that out.

Re:
I see that you're still about the skool, somewhere, Puffin. but I must get on with my "real life" homework for tomorrow morning.

This, btw, is a bit of an experiment in sending material in a more readable form. Well, at least more readable for the Bear.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Hello to you Rob-Bear, and to any other owls still around.

I am trying to stay up a bit later tonight, so to get straight-through sound sleep before an early start tomorrow.

Bear ... that last comment is definitely in a larger font ... looks very good!

Yes, the various regions' differing times of switching clocks backwards does lead to a bit of fun. Sliding times zones!

Today was our election day, although there are not too many close election races across the country. Nonetheless, some of them are being labeled as tests of Pres. Obama's current strength.

Now, I am feeling tired. Sorry to fly off. Hoping to see some of you all tomorrow. xo

Re:
Interesting wording, Frances -- "sliding time zones."

Sounds like the title of something thought up by "slippery" politicians. Laughing Laughing Laughing
