Cowart's Common Room
I CAN'T SLEEP CHAT POST

Hello to all the owls that may still be awake.

A day of errands, laundry and ironing, and sorting through reams of paper work which I have meaning to make tidy in my desk. Also sorted through some of my clothes which I have not worn for ages, so they will be going off the charity shop tomorrow, nice to have a clear out and make more space.

Just going to make a quick cuppa, see you later.

If you can't sleep and there are others on line then have a natter here.

Night Night, & Sweet Dreams.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Good evening Camilla.

What a busy day you have had. My day off has also been pretty full. I did get a good night's rest before starting the day off with laundry run to the basement laundy room

Then, off to take care of several errands related to our special event this Wednesday at the shop. Then, downtown to the shop to deliver the items I'd bought.

Then off to the nearby farmers' market to get some small Gala apples, and some broccoli and shallots.

Then back home for a quick lunch, and more grocery shopping. Then a call to my gp to see if he'd time for a quick chat this afternoon re my osteoporosis diagnosis.

Yes was the answer, so quickly over to his office for a too quick, in my opinion, chat re the medication he's prescribing for me. Boniva is the name of the pill. and I am not in any hurry to take it.

Next, off to try to find some new, comfy and reasonably priced shoes to wear to work. My current collection are falling apart. There are a number of shoe stores in my neighborhood, and my first stop was at one that is renown for comfortable shoes ... not alway so beautiful or fashion forward, but comfy.

I did not find anything that I liked, but did encounter among the other shoppers a neighborhood celeb ... Lauren Bacall. For real! Hoping that she found some shoes she liked.

I pressed on to other shops and eventually found some black flat slip on shoes that are very comfortable, and not too ugly. I will wear them tomorrow.

Camilla's Avatar Hello Frances and Patsy,

There is a full Moon tonight, at last the rain and wind has died down.

Please forgive me but this owl is off to have an earlier night tonight, hoping for a better night's sleep.

I have wound up Tiddles gently, given her half-half in bowl, and have put the Clock outside for his dose of Moonglow, well that Clock will definately be getting the treatment tonight with the full moon.

Nighty night Frances and Patsy, and to all other owls who may be popping in later. Sweetest of dreams, see you tomorrow.

xx

Re:
Frances's Avatar Sweet dreams, and true rest to you, Camilla.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. I'll keep an eye on the perch for a while more, while having the other eye on the tv watching to see the New York Yankees in the world series.

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar Sweet dreams Camilla.

Hi Frances,
My, but I'm dragging today with this time change. I'm ready for bed already! What a full day you had and seeing Ms. Bacall too.

RE
Camilla's Avatar Frances, how wonderful to have seen that wonderful actress, she is the spitting image of my late mother. Have seen nearly all of Lauren Bacall films.

A busy day for you Frances on your day off, but even though I know you are reluctant to take that pill, hoping and wishing that it helps and is agreeable to you for the Osteoporosis.

I am a fuss pot with shoes, I like them flat and of course have to be comfy too, long gone has those heels in my younger days and not only that they make my feet ache.

Bought some of those Gala apples the other day Frances, and my granddaughter's favourite ones are Pink Lady. There is an apple that has been unseen for years here named The Nofolk Dumpling, it has been discovered again in a nearby garden but not sure when it will be introduced again for sale.

Hoping to get here a little earlier tomorrow Frances to catch up with you, sleep well my friend.

Night Night.

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar I'm not familiar with tonight's particular painting but I recognize the woman, Karin Larsson and the room. I feel as if I know it as my own and would love to see it in real life. I think that in some ways she was as great an artist as he was.

Re:
Frances's Avatar Nite, nite to you, Camilla.

Blackbird, I know what you mean about transistioning back into standard time. When that darkness arrives so much earlier in the afternoon, it is a bit of a shock, and must triggers some sort of response in my eyes. You are getting sleepy, you are getting sleepy. That sort of message.

I am going to log off now from the perch so I can try to stay awake and cheer my NY Yankees on to victory.

Sweet dreams. xo

Re:
Blackbird's Avatar It's a lovely painting whoever painted it- I especially like the knitting on the chair and the loose ball of yarn on the floor- just like my house.

Go and cheer your team on, Frances. We'll adjust to the change in a couple of days. It's nice to have some lightness in the morning but even that will go soon enough.

I'm off to see if WW has done her homework and what else is afoot.

Re:
Bear ambles in but, not seeing tree root, trips, and bangs his head on tree.

Undeterred, Bear climbs tree to Owls' perch and finds it . . . EMPTY.

Miserable combination of insult and injury. Bear trudges away, holding head and shaking it at the same time.
